St Colmcilles partner with local charity for annual dinner dance

St Colmcilles will hold their annual dinner dance and awards night on Saturday the 5th of April at the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena. This night inevitably tends to be one of the highlights of the social calender for Cardiff St Colmcilles and this year should be no different.

A large crowd of suited and booted party goers is expected for the night’s entertainment. With tickets at £20 for a 3 course meal and some top notch musicians on show it represents great value for money in Cardiff’s premier event center.

This year however, St Colmcilles are going the extra mile and will partner with Cancer Charity Tenovus in order to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer.  Tenovus have converted an American-style motor home into a mobile support service for men with prostate or testicular cancer in Wales. The £600,000 for the 38ft (12m) long ManVan has been funded by the annual Movember moustache-growing campaign.

The ManVan will be parked outside the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena during the St Colmcilles dinner dance and will be on hand to offer advice and raise awareness of the all too common diseases. Around 2,600 men are diagnosed with prostate or testicular cancer every year in Wales and the van is used as a base for educational talks and counselling.

Cardiff St Colmcilles are proud to promote Tenovus and would encourage everyone attending the dinner dance, or even if you just happen to be passing by, to drop in for a chat.

More Information can be found here as well as on the Tenovus website, the Prostate Cancer UK website and the Movember Website
