About Us

History

St Colmcilles GAA have been promoting Gaelic Games, Irish Language and Culture in the Cardiff and South Wales area since the club was reformed in 1956. Currently the only non-university GAA team in Wales we compete in the Gloucestershire league.

In recent years Gaelic games have been on the up in Wales as we have founded a Cardiff Ladies team and Cardiff Metropolitan University mens and ladies teams who compete in the British Universities Sports Association competitions each year. This has introduced students from all walks of life to the GAA and allowed them to learn more about the GAA, Irish culture and society.

St. Colmcilles are always happy to welcome and encourage new players. We have players from all four provinces of Ireland and parts of UK with a wide range of ability levels. We are always looking for new players so if you are interested then please do not hesitate to contact us for more information. We are also always looking to develop the club as whole so if interested in assisting the club in anyway such as coaching, committee work, fundraising or just coming down to cheer the team on from the sideline then please get in contact.
